I have always loved ravens and crows, blackbirds in general really. They are beautiful avians and I love watching them on our front lawn during the day. I was just curious if anyone here has ever attempted raising any as pets or taming them to any degree? Is it possible at all? How is there temperament if so? Thanks for divulging any information
I have never actually seen a crow kept as a pet, but I have read about this, and they are supposed to make a great pet, I have read that crows and ravens can also be taught to talk, but they have to have their tongue split like a Myna bird does.
I have seen a Myna bird kept as a pet, and they used to be very popular, and are wonderful talkers ! !
When my son was about 4, we were at a business that had one in a cage, and it would meow just like a cat. My son was looking all over for the cat that he could plainly hear, but not see. I tried to tell him that it was the bird meowing, but he just gave me the "I don't believe that" look ! !
It was so funny, and I believe that Myna bird was chuckling to himself also.
