I got a new kitten, but I have no idea how much pet food should I get and should I get hard food and soke it? Some advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
How old is your kitten?

If the kitten is still in the stage of needing milk, then this Kitten Milk Replacer will work well. It is capable of replacing the mother cat's milk completely.

For kitten of age 4~8 weeks, this formula is said to be designed for them

If the kitten has just passed the age of needing milk, it might still have trouble to to chew on dry food with its very tiny teeth. Canned wet cat food should work better.

Thanks for response,
My kitten is 3 month old. Is Commercial pet food good or not for her ?
Your kitten is older than I thought. Canned food should work just fine.
Check the ingredient and reviews before you buy. You can't go wrong with products having mostly positive reviews.
From experience, the canned kitten foods work well. I always try to get them to hard food quickly, so I like the trick of soaking some in a little warm milk. And most kittens really like it. Then start to cut back on the milk, and leave a bowl of dry food available for him to nibble on. Then give the moistened food &/or canned food once a day. You will have to watch him, and see what he likes more, and if there are any adverse reactions.(i.e. Diarrhea). At a certain age, too much milk can give them digestive problems. Wink

The good quality dry foods are very good for their teeth in the long run, so I try to keep them from expecting canned, wet food constantly.
Feed canned and/or dry, but be sure to give them kitten formula food, It is more nutritionally dense to support their growth. Feed kitten food for the first year, though as you get close to one year old you can probably mix in adult food.
