Full Version: So much for puppy proofing

Before Logan arrived I must have scoured ever inch of the house picking up hair pins and hair ties and tiny it's off the floor and low surfaces.
Well aware that puppies and spaniels in particular are terrible for eating this they shouldn't. Sadly I didn't puppy proof my lodger.
Came back from a few days visiting family tonight and at some point while I was away my lodger has been sewing and left a sewing pin stuck in the arm of the couch. (Perfectly logical place to leave a pin surely )

Well you guessed it puppy has swallowed the sewing pin. Just dropped him off at the vets and at 15 weeks old he is now looking forward to having his tummy cut open to fetch the pin back out.

I am really upset. I watch him like a hawk and I literally saw him swallow it down I just couldn't get across the living room fast enough to stop him. We hadn't even been home an hour.
I know I did the right thing taking him straight to the vet and he will probably be on but because the vet has to warn you of the dangers of anaesthetic I am now in bits, worrying about my little man.
Also using all my self control not to strangle my lodger (after all accidents do happen)
All I can say is thank god for pet insurance
