So there is this Pizza hut across the street. There are only 30 tables in there, but with total 10 waiters and waitresses. Many of them are standing around chatting, some are checking text on their cellphones.
Every time when a customer enters, they would take turn to serve.

So efficient! Big Grin

Work maybe slow, but heck at least they're having fun and getting paid to do it! Lol. Kudos to them and the fact that for such a small venue 10+ are employed.
I just do not get why they hire 10 people to do the job of 3. I have seen full house twice there, but 3 waiters and waitresses would still be enough even if every table is full.
One time I've seen 3 assistant managers at once on the top of the 10 cheap labors. They wear uniforms here, different ones.

Although I have to note that, I am not in the U.S. at this very moment. I've been here since last September. Big Grin
Perhaps the managers and employers thought it would be beneficial for them to have jobs? I mean, they're working, they're earning a living, and it means they're less likely to be short staffed and flooded if a few people need to take a day off or two?

Oh? Where are you now, if I can ask that. Smile I assume you're away on business.

I bet their individual salary could be higher if they don't use that many standing around waiters and waitresses. Right now it is just more people to share the same pie.

As for where I am right now, I will give you the exactly coordinates when I have the access to a GPS. Promise me not to send over a cruise missile. Wink

My guess is that they were training new staff, maybe for a new location that will be opened soon. A good way to give them some practice with more experienced people there to help.
Karenskatz, you had asked me about my current location. I couldn't find a GPS, so I revealed it in the following thread with some photos.
