Puppy issue!! Eating socks! - Samantha Knox - 04-16-2016

I have 2 puppies that are about 3 months old. They are german shepard/ husky mix and they seem to love to eat socks! How can I get them to stop this?

I am no dog expert, but how about put the socks out of their reach would be a good start? Tongue

Funny. I concur you should keep the socks out of their reach but sometimes they do fall off the hanging line or simply blown by the wind or even get misplaced. The puppy might get into the house and get them. What do those puppies like to eat? If they like fat, smear it on a ping pong ball and throw it at them. They will no longer be interested in socks. In this fails to work, smear the socks with some raw pepper and observe their dislike for them! Ha!

First is to keep all socks away from the sight of your dogs. Socks are soft and nice to play with, it is the favorite of cats. But eating socks? Maybe your puppy is testing its budding teeth and a soft object like a sock or even a rag will appeal to it. I would suggest that you buy your puppy a chewy toy. My favorite Barbie has a chewy toy all the time so whe would stop biting on other things like the cover of the sofa or the throw pillow in the living room.
