I won a gecko! :3 - amanda509 - 01-28-2013 soo i had entered a giveaway near christmas time and had forgotten id entered. the drawing was on christmas day and i was chosen! but...facebook had never showed me the message about me winning. thankfully the guy was kind enough to follow up a month later and ask if i was still interested and im like "YES!!!" lol. so, as soon as the weather gets above 60 (which might be awhile) this little baby is coming! it is unsexed, 4-5 grams, baby crested gecko! ive always wanted a crestie, but they are soo expensive! but, i suppose it was meant to be! RE: I won a gecko! :3 - Thor - 01-29-2013 Congratulations on the prize, Manda! So this is a crested gecko. First time I have heard of it. Looking good there. It is quite unique looking compare to other geckos you have posted in other threads. How many geckos and total reptiles do you have now? Your reptile zoo is expanding fast! RE: I won a gecko! :3 - amanda509 - 01-29-2013 crested geckos have always been my favorite, but they are outragious in prices. a normal, plain, nothing special crestie goes for $60 minimum. this guy here is a pinstripe and would go for $125. they are arboreal and very cute and curious. they leap, they stick to things, they fingerpaint with their food, just overall adorable! as of right now the list is: 3.7 leopard geckos 1.0 chinese cave gecko 1.0 jackson's chameleon 1.0 nosy be panther chameleon 1.0 columbian boa 0.0.1 baby crestie (identified like that because its unsexed) total of 15 reptiles :3 not to mention the 200+ roaches, numerous mealworms, and crickets lol also, HUGE news, my boyfriends parents are looking into buying us a place we can rent from them, and the place we are looking at involves me getting my own reptile room! RE: I won a gecko! :3 - Kyla Houbolt - 02-02-2013 LOL! It definitely sounds like you need your own reptile room, Amanda, but, how very awesome. I came looking for you from the thread where you posted those glorious horse photos because I saw your signature saying "ask me about my lizards, I dare you" and I had to come ask you about your lizards! I guess the dare part is because once somebody asks you, you have a whole lot to tell, right? I love it. And the crested gecko is a handsome beast indeed. So, tell, tell me, Amanda, all about your lizards! I am truly fascinated. What do you mean by 3.7 leopard geckos? 3 Adults and 7 babies? 3 males and 7 females? You are confusing me. Do you now have self-sustainable insects colonies for your reptile needs? A dedicated reptile room is definitely needed for someone like you who have a lot of reptile pets. In my opinion, leaving one or two beautiful reptile enclosures in the living room or other rooms can be great decorations too. RE: I won a gecko! :3 - amanda509 - 02-03-2013 the numbers are explained as: (males).(females).(unsexed babies) so 3.7 would be 3 males and 7 females as of right now my mealworms are self sustaining for the time being, but i order my crickets in bulk, which last for quite awhile and therefore i dont need to breed them, they are a pain to breed -.- and deff! i neeeeeeed a reptile room soo badly, but i will have one or two nice natural enclosures out for display RE: I won a gecko! :3 - SereneScales - 02-21-2013 Congrats! Pretty little thing. I used to have a large breeding group but I lost them all due to a freak accident. Take good care of the little tike! just be leery of ants. They will go after the repashy and wind up killing the gecko too. RE: I won a gecko! :3 - AnnaU93 - 02-21-2013 Wow! Haha, Congratulations on this lovely prize! I am sure you are playing with him right at this moment. I really don't think a lizard is a pet for me but if given the chance to win him then I would be thrilled. I hope you take good care of him and enjoy his company as well! Best wishes! RE: I won a gecko! :3 - AimeeLou1984 - 05-27-2013 Wow that's a great prize to win! I used to have a baby crested gecko called Fonzy. He was adorable! I just love the look of them. There are so many different colour variations and they are by far the prettiest out of the gecko family. I find them pretty easy to look after too; though they can be a little fussy when it comes to food! Mine didn't like crickets or meal worms. So I ended up feeding him the powder gecko food and a little gecko jam. Enjoy your new baby! RE: I won a gecko! :3 - nafretiti - 05-29-2013 How is your little Gecko doing? I am also wondering if you've ever found out if it was a male or female, I bet that also had to of been fun and exciting that you won. Very good for the man who followed up with you and let you know that you won it! I'd have to say that is one nice looking gecko,I have never seen one like this before as they are so different then to the ones that I see out in the wild all the time here down in South Carolina. |
