Cat with spinal deformity gets a second chance - TreeClimber - 02-10-2013 This is a really neat story. A cat born with a twisted spine was brought to a vet hospital at 3 weeks old. Normally, a cat in this condition would be put to sleep. The cat could scoot around, but had difficulties. The veterinarian decided to help the cat. She contacted the high school robotics club. The students set out to design a wheel chair for the cat. In the end they came up with a model that worked. And, now the cat runs everywhere just as if it was born with a normal spine. It's amazing what we can come up with when we set out minds to it. And, these were teenagers! http://www.care2.com/greenliving/flipper-the-robot-cat-video.html RE: Cat with spinal deformity gets a second chance - ACSAPA - 02-28-2013 Thank you for sharing this amazing video. There are so many kind people that came together to help this little cat, from the vet who decided not to put her to sleep to the Blitz high school robotics club. It's cool to see the cat running around as fast as a normal cat and it's so great to see teenagers working together to help an animal in need. I loved this story and I hope Flipper finds a nice adoptive family. |
