Pig outing. - jowjo5 - 02-15-2013 My kids have two guinea pigs that they got just after Christmas from a local feed store here in my town. Well, today with it being a balmy 40 degrees they wanted to take them to the feed store owners and let them see them and how much they have grown. My kids wrapped them up in blankets, no joke, pigs in a blanket and off we went. The store owner was so happy to see the guinea pigs she sold to us. She was very satisfied with how well the guinea pigs were being taken care of. It was a nice experience to take a pet back to see the place of sale and my kids were so excited to show them how they are taking care of them. Those are the kinds of stores I like, ones that sell the pets and also remember them not just as an animal. Good experience today. RE: Pig outing. - Msmonkeyfeet - 02-18-2013 Aww that's fantastic! I've never done that sort of thing myself but that's another thing I love about small towns like the one I live in because I know if I ever did buy a pet from a local store that they'd treat that pet like a member of their own family before and after it was adopted. I also think it's fantastic that your children are that responsible and show pride in their pets and their ability to take care of them. |
