Interesting mammal pets - remnant - 06-17-2016

I wonder how the process of domestication took place. I suppose the early man was very resourceful for managing to domesticate the dog. Most people keep pets along the lines of what is safe and known like cats, dogs and the like as well as pet fishes. I posit that its a bit hard to convert a pet from the wild to make them adjust to the home environment. I have also observed that herbivorous pets are the toughest to domesticate. I would like to know whether anyone has any information on whether one can keep the reindeer as a pet. I know of the ilama which has been imported into the highlands in my country and they are being used to supply milk since they have a high food conversion rate and produce alot of milk. Anybody who has carried out a successful domestication exercise?
