Rabies - remnant - 07-12-2016

In most places, the pet is considered as part of the family. Its common to find a pet cuddling on the kid's cot or in close proximity during meal times. In most Third World countries, there is a prevalence of zoonotics due to the fact that pet walking occurs in bushy or forested zones in rural areas and pets invariably come into contact with rodents or other wild animals which may carry various pathogens including rabies and other diseases. The latter is a feared disease not only because of the high cost of treatment but also the limited availability of vaccines in case someone is infected before they are immunised. When symptomatology presents, the disease can be almost 100% fatal. In some quarters, its referred to as the world's most diabolical disease due to its strange presentations like someone wanting to bite everybody around them, exaggerated sexual tension, foaming in the mouth and hydrophobia. The most common culprits with regard to horizontal spread to humans are dog bites. Whats the most prevalent epizoonotics in your area and how don they present.
