Meet our guinea pigs - sakee - 04-14-2013 Hi! I'd like to share some pictures of my boars. They were both rescues from separate places, but they look like they could be brothers. This is Burrows. He is about 4 years old now. His owner was moving overseas, and was rehoming him on freecycle. This is Scampers. He is about 3.5 years old. We adopted him from an animal shelter. His former owner moved out of his apartment and just left Scampers behind. The landlord brought him in. He was very shy at first, but he is very friendly now. This picture is of him right before he went for surgery last week to get this lump removed. RE: Meet our guinea pigs - Rube - 04-15-2013 I do hope Scampers has recovered from surgery. Burrows looks very content inside his paper bag. All my guinea pigs were rescue pets, of different breeds and ages, and two of them produced a tiny baby pig, which was so cute. I love the sound guinea pigs make, and they are friendly little creatures. RE: Meet our guinea pigs - sakee - 04-17-2013 Hi Rube, Scampers is having a slow recovery. It's been a week now. Yesterday the vet dressed the wound and said it looks the same. He told me to stop syringe feeding him food because we really need to see how will do on his own. He seems interested in fresh veggies today, but not interested in finding his water bottle or his pellets on his own. I will consider it a full recovery when he does that. The paper bags are a big hit all the time. Cheap fun! |
