Does a snake get thirsty? Do they drink water?
I have heard that snakes like juicy food, but I am not sure if they need extra water beside the water inside their food.

Yes, all reptiles need water. Some drink more frequently than others. They get allot of their moisture from their prey. Some are better at conserving water than others. Most snakes don't release water to urinate, they release a solid that contains the uric acids called "urates". Tropical reptiles that need a more humid environment can become dehydrated quite easily. You should always have a clean, fresh, water dish available for almost all species.

It is hard to imagine a snake drinking water. Well, I tried it for a minute in my head. I can't picture it.

I can post video of my snake drinking in a month or so when I return home. It's not anything special; they approach a source of standing water, dip their 'lips' (or the front of their mouth) into the water, and use their jaw muscles to create suction and draw the water in.

The one thing that is neat to watch is a green tree python drinking water droplets off of its coils. I'll have to find a video or picture.
