Howdy from North Texas!! - MsCalamityJane - 12-27-2014 Hello fellow pet lovers! I'm owned by Ollie, a 13-year-old Shih Tzu and 2+ year-old Stanley, a Half-moon Conure parrot. When I was growing up I was always the kid bringing home strays. We always had at least one dog and severals cats. There were hamsters and a couple rabbits. Rabbits make wonderful house pets! Now that I have a family of my own I've added fish aquariums. Sure didn't realize how large angel fish get! And boy are they aggressive! I've had a ferret and iguanas. They really should warn you how big iguanas really get. Huge! Mine were gentle giants that would occasionally give ya a hard flick of the tail. I'm really looking forward to participating in this pet forum!! RE: Howdy from North Texas!! - Thor - 12-29-2014 Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have had a lot of experience with all kinds of pets. It is good to have you here. Yeah, one of the things pet owners tend to overlook is the size of adult pet. They often judge the requirement for the pets based on the current size rather than the potential full size. In the case of fish, it is important that we have to get fish tanks big enough for the full adult size of the fish we plan to get. |
