Does your dog have a favorite toy? - haopee - 06-14-2012

I'm one of those people who used to buy toys for my dog whenever I have a chance. Surprisingly, my dogs will only choose a specific toy from their toy basket.

Peanuts would always go for the squeaky ball while Ginger would immediately grab the squeaking stuffed animal. Chooey, on the other hand, has an affinity to the red circular toy with bells. And every time I put down the toy basket, no matter how far those toys are, they will always pick the same toys over and over again.

Just like your dogs my childhood dogs had their favorites that they would sleep with and take out for car rides or walks. One of my dog's Rosie took her little soft toy dog everywhere. It was adorable. Honey also had a selection of soft toys that she loved also. Neither played with their expensive plastic chew toys ect.. Isn't that always the way!

It's funny, when my dog was around she did not have a favourite toy. The only thing she ever loved was food, you did not mess with her when she was eating.

My 5 month old labrador's favorite is a tie between a "bobo" chew toy and tug of war rope. Jazmine is so cute when you say, "go get bobo" and she runs back with it ready for action.

Misha loves Booda Hedgehogs. She has 3 and they are her favorite toys.

Her real favorite is the AKC Squirrel that belongs to her dog cousin. She used to have one but ripped it apart. Her cousin brings hers when I dogsit her. Misha acts as if the squirrel is her long lost friend. She doesn't even care that there is another dog in the house as long as she can play with the squirrel. It's cute because she and the squirrel are almost the same size.
