Any tips for a new marine tank? - thetit4n - 07-14-2012

Any tips for starting a new marine tank? I have purchased a bunch of stuff I just don't want to mess it all up.

I heard that they are really hard to maintain.

keeping a marine tank is a little different from keeping a freshwater tank, and it is more difficult.

What have you purchased so far? The list of equipments and supplies please? Tank size? Fish species you plan to have?
What experience do you have in fish hobby in the past? Smile

Hey, I just joined the forum and noticed your post. Did you ever get the tank set up? Is it fish only? Reef? What items have your purchased already? What size is your tank?

The best advice I can give you is to read, read, read, and take your time. With a saltwater tank it can be very tempting to add fish and coral pretty quickly, but the bioload can take a toll on your tank. Patience is the key. I am getting ready to set one back up in a few months but its been so long that I may as well call myself a newbie!
