gecko update :) - amanda509 - 07-21-2012

well, mars has no parasites, and started eating and pooping, but suddenly stopped again. im not sure what his deal is. he started gaining weight, but now he wont be able to if h doesnt eat. i think he might have something against superworms. he was eating the mealies like candy and got soo excited about the crickets, but when i got supers because the store was out of mealies, he stopped eating. venus on the other hand eats EVERYTHING -.- she gorged on about 10-15 supers the other night..just got some a couple days ago and had to get more mealies today because she ate all my supers! also, she layed 2 huge eggs on 7/10 that are now incubating. they are a little miscolored but are not molding or flattening, so i suppose they are good Smile she is getting chubby yet again, so she will hopefully lay more soon.

Congrats Manda! He may must not like supers. I have a female that doesn't like supers, she eats silkworms, butterworms, and waxworms, no mealies, no supers. My other female prefers supers. So, it may just be him. You can try other foods as well.

The eggs look viable too! The first one has a clear viable embryo, the second is harder to see, but I think it's good. Should be fun Smile Normally from one breeding they play at least 4 clutches, mauve as many add six. So she may have had a few before you got her, but I would think you have at least one more clutch coming. Just make sure to feed her well in between, in case she stops eating for week or so before laying again.

dont worry about her eating enough..like i said..she doesn't know when to stop! lol. she just eats and eats and eats! wish mars would get on that bandwagon. so far he hasnt touched his mealies in the past 24 hours. i dont know how to get him regularly eating without making that pain in the butt liquid food stuff... -.-

Congratulations on the leopard gecko eggs. The eggs look so tiny and cute.
Hopefully they will all hatch into cute little baby leopard geckos soon. Keep us updated! Smile
