Has your dog bitten your wallet yet? - Victor Leigh - 07-31-2012
This is one of the moments which many dog owners dread. Your dog bites someone and you get hit in the pocket for it. Not always, though. Like Missy, the Rottweiler, which took umbrage at an intruder putting a hand through the cat door. The intruder fled leaving behind lots of blood and shreds of flesh in Missy's mouth. Now the police have got enough DNA evidence to track down the intruder. In the meantime, Missy is still on duty.

No thank God! My girls, while distrusting of strangers, are the typical little dog that goes "Bark Bark" and then runs behind mommies legs LOL But I think if your dog bites an intruder, or someone attempting to intrude, it should fall under the "Stand your ground" laws and not be prosecutable.

Our terrier bit into a small can of breath freshener spray. I couldn't figure out why she kept licking her mouth like crazy one day, then a few days later I went to use the breath freshener, and noticed the puncture holes in it lol.

No, but I am sure if an intruder got close enough, she would bite. One of my friends came over to let our dog out while we were on vacation, and my dog was barking like crazy at our friend because she hadn't recognized him. She even snapped at him, not allowing him to get too close. She finally sniffed his hand and she must have recognized his scent because she calmed down. I am sure she would chase after or bite anyone that would walk through our door that she doesn't know.

Ha! When my dog was around, she probably would've started rubbing herself against the intruder's leg. She also would have wanted a belly rub. However, if the perpetrator would have attempted to pick up her then his/her hand would have been bitten clean off!

You wouldn't, by any chance, have a Golden Retriever, would you? I read somewhere that Goldens are just about the friendliest dogs in all of caninedom. I have actually met one Golden which treated me like a long-lost friend even though I was a total stranger.
