Any Red Sea Max owners out there? - vrobnson - 10-09-2012 I have had my eye on the RSM130 and had made plans to purchase it in the upcoming months. I have been reading quite a bit on it and had my entire list of other accessories already mapped out to purchase along with it. I would consider myself a newbie when it comes to saltwater since the last aquarium I set up was about 5 years ago. Well I took my husband in one of the local aquarium stores the other day and he saw a larger one (RSM250 - 65 gallons) and has agreed that we can get that one. I was content with the smaller size as I have never set up a reef this large so now I am reaching out to any RSM250 owners out there that can give me some tips. In the meantime, I will be mapping out a new supply list to go along with the tank. Thanks in advance! RE: Any Red Sea Max owners out there? - Ram - 10-09-2012 Are you talking about this Red Sea MAX 250 65-gallon Reef Aquarium System ? It is not cheap. $1799.99 for the black model after the discount. I have not owned one, but from the specification and user reviews it looks good. It has every equipment you ever need for running a saltwater tank in one package. You will not need to buy anything else as far as equipments are concerned. What fish do you plan to have? According to the specification, the tank has the dimension of 38" long x 21" wide x 32" high. The length isn't all that impressive, because I own a 36" long tank and I wish it's at least 48" long. Out of 4 reviews, 3 of them gave 5 out of 5 stars, with one guy complained about the skimmer and the T5 lights. He said the skimmer isn't working, and the T5 lights are too bright. However I believe it is just one bad case of the skimmer or perhaps he doesn't know how to adjust it. |
