Yes, it is the time for those pesky critters to come out and how they love to attack us, and they also love our pets for their dinners, as well. If your dog or cat has a lot of hair (Persian cat, Collie dog) then they are no where near as apt to be bitten, however, even then there are still delicate spots, such as inside of the ears, where those mosquitos can attack our furbabies.
This year is especially bad. We have a virus that is being carried by the Asian Tiger mosquito, and it can cause extreme joint pain, high fevers, and the usual flu symptoms.
Once you have contracted the illness, or your dog does, it is nearly impossible to get rid of this virus, so we need to be extra careful of both ourselves and our pets this summer.
One easy remedy that is also safe for pets is Avon SkinSoSoft bath oil. Not only will your dog be safe, he will smell wonderful !
They recommend either spraying it on after a bath while he is still damp, or for everyday use, mix 1/4 cup SSS with 1/4 cup white vinegar and add a cup of water, then put in a spray bottle.
