That's rare these days lol.  Most cats nowadays are obese and lazy.   They sleep all day and barely move.  If there is a mouse, they'd run from it instead of catching it lol.   Maybe it is because your cat had been on the streets for a while.  To survive the homeless ordeal, it had to catch small animals for food.
