Definitely dogs! I grew up around a couple of dogs and never cats so I suppose that's the reason.
I wouldn't say they freak me out, but I just cant grow to like cats in the same way. If I saw a "stranger" dog, I could gauge very quickly how it is around me and how it would behave (aggressive, mellow etc) and I seem to get along with every dog I meet.
Cats on the other hand, I can't. I'm always apprehensive about them. I feel if I get close to them like I would a dog (my face near their, for example) there's always a possibility of the cat swiping my face with it's sharp claws! Maybe this will sound silly to cat owners/lovers, but yeah.. Cat's are too unpredictable and 'cold' for my liking. You feed, water, groom and shelter them and they know it. Dogs know it too, but I sense an appreciation for it from them, that I just don't get from cats.
