Chickens would have made popular pets if they are better looking

I personally think chickens are very cute and gorgeous animals and I think there is a huge list of animals that have terrible looks compared to the chicken. I actually find chickens very cute which is a small reason I always wanted to live on a farm for some time in my life. I honestly find them adorable and I don't see why some people are reluctant to have them. For example: I would choose a chicken as a pet over a snake at any given day.
