Well thanks guys, glad to be here! I also live in Wisconsin (Canada) lol! Yup Fishbone the shipping gets me everytime, and to mention how fast the shipping is... Wow blows my mind!
Karenskatz- Thanks that sounds great and living in the same state we should have alot in common!
Where in WI do you live? Do you wait until July to put away your snow shovel too? Yes, we are a state with about three or four big citys with city cat problems, and the rest of the state is barn cats. LOL. forget the fleas, watch out for the deer ticks!
Actually, I never find ticks on the strays I deal with. But when I was in Japan, pulling ticks off dogs and cats was a regular occurance. There was one rescue cat that just became known as Tick Cat because we lost count of how many we pulled off him! Japan is very mountanous and wooded, and the climate where I was is very much like Wisconsin, with lots of snow last winter. Rhw first island south of the mainland is probably more like Florida; a pleasant winter followed by a monsoon season followed by hot weather with air you could wring out. Either is conducive to bugs.
I've actually always had more problems with ticks in the woods in North Carolina and Virginia than I ever have in Florida. Pulling ticks off animals there was a semi-regular occurrence. Here, I wouldn't go as far to say it's rare, but it certainly isn't common.
