How much do veterinary services cost where you live?
I have discussed about veterinary costs recently and I was just curious how much you guys pay for a consultation.

Where I live, the vet clinic I go to charge the following.

1. Consultation: $7
2. Grooming: $13
3. Vaccination 5-in-1: $13-$15
4. Minor Cauterization for warts: $30
5. Neutering: $30-$50
6. Spaying: $100+

An average person is earning about $12-$25/day.

What about you guys?

When my fiancee got her cats, they were already spayed and neutered by the animal rescue. For veterinary services, such as a check-up, it cost my lady $80-something dollars. The beautiful thing about the free market and competition is that there are a lot of choices and you can shop around. Surprisingly the $80 is one of the best prices in the city.

A consultation is only $7? Wow, that's pretty cheap.

My vet is strictly for medical care, so they don't offer grooming services at all.

As for the others, it sounds about the same for me. Neutering is around the $50-75 mark, and spaying costs about $120. I think part of that is because the surgery is more intrusive and they have to stay overnight afterward.

I need to move out where you are, Haopee! Veterinary services are expensive here. I rarely get out of the Vet for under $100.

1. Consultation: $30-50
2. Grooming: $25+ (a poodle might be close to $75)
3. Vaccination 5-in-1: $50-75
4. Minor Cauterization for warts: $(I have no clue)
5. Neutering: $250+
6. Spaying: $250+
You might get spaying and neutering at a low cost clinic for $75. I am including the cost of any medication as well. Misha's spaying came in at $300 and included her follow up appointment 10 days later.

When I took in Misha recently for her abscessed anal gland it cost $350. This included the consultation, the sedation (she was too wild to do without it), the procedure, medication, and then a follow up appointment.

I live in Pennsylvania.

1. Consultation: $25
2. Grooming: $40 (depending no the salon - you can probably find cheaper)
3. Vaccinations: $75
4. Warts: $50
5. Neutering: $250+
6. Spaying: $250+

All of the vets around here are extremely expensive. They have these fancy offices and it's very similar to a regular physician. They have a full staff.

I live in central florida, and I use a variety of veterinarians. I have a variety of different animals, so I use the vet that best fits the service I need done, with the necessary experience, at the lowest price I can find from someone with the necessary experience. The office visit/consultation fee varies from $40-$80.

I just had to take my poor male cat in for a urinary tract infection, it was $39 for the office visit, $27 for the urinalysis, and $36 for the antibiotics, (that was after I couldn't find anywhere to get them cheaper quickly). So $102 out the door.

And, after the meds, and some adjustments in the way we care for him, Nermal (the afflicted cat) is doing much better. Cool
