Flea control
How do you control fleas on your pets? I use the original blue Dawn dishwashing detergent. I have also used Head and Shoulders shampoo. I have had good success using both and rarely see a flea on my little dog. I use a flea comb on her regularly and do not see any fleas on the comb. I have heard that Gold Bond powder is good to put on your dog or cat, but have not tried it yet.

RE: Flea control
We use Head and Shoulders shampoo, because my Chipper has baby-fine hair, and this shampoo has conditioners in it as well as the pyrethrin that kills the fleas.
I try to vacuum the front room more often in the flea season, too; and sometimes I sprinkle either borax or diatomaceous earth on the rug and leave it overnight to kill any fleas in the carpet.
An interesting thing that will also catch the little pests, is to cut a plastic pop bottle in half, put sugar water and a dab of yeast in the bottom, and then invert the top back over it. Then wrap a paper towel around the bottle , and leave it sit in an out of the way spot where you won't accidentally tip the bottle over.
The fleas are drawn by the smell of the yeast, climb up the paper towel, fall down into the bottle and drown.
