I would always go with a mutt, just because there are so many dogs out there that need a home. I mean, honestly, I don't care about the dogs bloodline, or lineage, or how perfect a representation of a breed it is. I want a cool, fun dog, that I'll love for the rest of my life. I could care less what he's worth to a breeder, or to a judge.
