Animal shelters have become overun with pets needing a good home. Whether they are pure breds or mutts, your best bet is to find your nearest shelter. Or you could even try looking in the classified ads. That is how we found our dog, Nashley. The biggest problem I have with pure bred dog breeders is their lack of concern for the animals welfare. I am not saying all breeders mishandle their dogs. But there are just to many puppy mills out there. And people just trying to make a quick buck. Inbreeding of the dogs becomes common place for some breeders. So this is why I said it does not matter if the dog is a mutt or pure bred. The real question should be where are you going to get the dog.
