Purring cats found to be healthy for people.
We all have heard about dogs that are taken to hospitals to visit cancer patients, and to nursing homes to comfort the elderly people that live there. It has been proven that just having the comfort pet there to visit them is beneficial for a patients health.
Now they have also discovered that just the sound of a purring cat is also very helpful for a variety of health conditions. The vibration of the purring can actually help to take away inflammation in our body, and just having the cat sitting on your lap can lower your blood pressure.
Purring vibrations are helpful for bone health, heart health, and even for healing wounds.

Here is the link to the chart:

This is a really informative chart! Smile I've heard about this before, but I have never confirmed it. I knew for a while that cats heal themselves by purring, it's great to know that they have such a positive effect on us as well. I hope that this information will help the reputation that cats have, and make them more popular. There are still a lot of people who hate cats for superstitious reasons, or just find them cold and uninteresting pets. While they have actually been healing us for all this time! Smile

Oh, I am absolutely in agreement! My husband's cat loves to cuddle and she is such a comfort when I'm feeling down!!! If I'm having a bad day and she jumps up on me I just want to cuddle her up to my chest and listen to her purr. (she's loud!) I have actually said that she'd make a good "nursing home" cat. The only problem with that plan is she's also SUPER curious. She might not cooperate and cuddle at the appropriate moments!

My own cat isn't nearly as demonstrative, or loud, but when she wants a good petting her purring is a blessing to me!

It seems hit or miss with cats. Some of them will cuddle with you and purr, and others you have to be on guard with 24/7. My white cat would maul patients in hospitals if they tried to all pet her, lol. She hates being handled too much, especially by strangers.

Some of my friends cats though, you can practically see the hearts floating out of their eyes when they're gazing at you.
