A lot of people don't realize how much other animals can interact and bond with their humans. I often run into people who are shocked that I actually take my bird to the vet. They just don't think of birds as "real pets." :/
Yes, I'm amazed at stories of other animals bonding with their owners. Some of my friends growing up owned rats who would sit on their shoulders while they read a book or watched television. Others had rabbits that wanted to be pet and cuddled. Birds are amazing animals too. A family member had two pet birds that would sing when their owner was nearby.
