He was hatched in August 2010 and I can't image life without him now. RE: Show off your bird(s) here! - Ram - 02-22-2012 Hi, hollypi, Nice birdy ! I've heard that if you raise a bird since it's hatched, it would think you as the parent. Can you go outside with him on your shoulder? RE: Show off your bird(s) here! - hollypi - 02-23-2012 My sister actually raised him for the first 6 weeks or so because her pair of lovebirds were his mom and dad. That 1st picture is of him when I visited my sis the week before I got to bring Mango home. He spends a lot of time riding on my shoulders (and other parts of me) while I'm doing things around the house, but I don't really take him outside. (I have a little harness for him that I've never managed to figure out how to get him into.) Right now he's in his favorite after dinner position...sitting on the bow of my reading glasses as he grinds his beak and takes a little nap before it's time to supervise the washing of dishes RE: Show off your bird(s) here! - jenb128 - 06-09-2012 Aw... Mango's so cute! This is Buzzy, my rescued cockatiel. He's missing all the feathers on his neck, and most on the back of his head. He's grown quite a few back though since his rescue - when I first brought him home, most of his face was bald, too! RE: Show off your bird(s) here! - A0130 - 09-01-2013 Munchkin is a one and a half year old Opaline peach-faced lovebird! That means that instead of just his face being peach, his entire head and neck is orange and his green coloration starts on his cute little belly. Here's a picture: I'm not sure how to make it appear just in the forum, but I promise it's a safe picture to click on. Here's his favorite spot to hang out, haha: Sorry, one more. His favorite place to take a nap: I got munchkin from a breeder, but he was not handtrained or handfed. It took me about 2 months to even get him okay with being near him. He was fed on seeds and honey treats, and will not accept pellets or fresh fruits and veggies. I am currently working on this. Munchkin is a very sweet, funny boy but very afraid and timid. He doesn't play with his toys or want to come out. I hope to improve behavior, and I hope he begins to get attached to me. I love him very much, I take him out almost all day when I can. I hold him and keep him on my shoulder. I hope he begins to associate me with fun and love instead of a big scary hand trying to touch him. Sorry for rambling. I care a lot about him and I love to show him off and try to get some help on fixing his behavior. RE: Show off your bird(s) here! - Thor - 10-07-2013 Meet my new budgie parakeets. While I am not sure their exact age, they should definitely be less than a year old This is one of my favorite photos. The two budgies were caught kissing in their nest. I just love to see them using the nest. The following is the full view of their bird cage. The dimension is about 20"L x 15"W x 40"H. One of the two budgie parakeets was using the little wood ladder. He is the champ. The blue parakeet really likes to try out all the stuff in the cage. Caught him swinging. I am feeding them mixture of seeds and fresh vegetables.
