Advice on the first parrot? - Gatiabre - 08-20-2020 Hi all, sorry but I can't create new posts. I've had parakeets years ago, but I'm now looking at my first parrot. Any advice where to start. I was thinking of a cocktail or a conure. I already have a very large cage. Thanks for any advice RE: Advice on the first parrot? - OliviaBrown - 09-30-2020 I'd have a small one as it's kinda scaring RE: Advice on the first parrot? - Thor - 11-27-2020 Have you thought about Budgerigar? Or budgie. They are one of the smallest parrots, and they can be trained to TALK! Check this thread out. There is also an article in the bird section on basic care. http://petskeepersguide.com/forums/Thread-Meet-my-new-Budgerigar-Parakeets Budgies are easy to take care of compared to many other birds. What's more? They are small, less demanding. You can get them for around $35 (at least that's the price I last saw lol).
