Two of my daughters kept rats as pets for many years. My youngest daughter had a hairless rat named Saggy (after the childrens story book Saggy, Baggy, Elephant) because of all the wrinkles in her skin. She bathed her regular and kept baby oil on her skin because with no hair, her skin would dry out. Saggy would hang by her feet or front paws from the top bars in her cage and swing back and forth and it was very amusing. My daughter would carry her around the house on her shoulder, but she never took her outside. Saggy lived to the ripe old age of 3 and died in her sleep. My daughter was heartbroken.
