I have a friend who is a dog groomer. She does not mind if the customer stays with their dog. In fact, as long as the dog owner stays out of the way, she would prefer that the owner stays for the first visit. It helps to calm the dog and helps her to get to know the owner better. Also, it helps to build trust, and she wants to be known for her trusting and caring reputation.
I have always had short-haired dogs, so don't need a groomer. I have done my own dog's nails. Saves money and I know that my dogs are in good hands.
