We have a small chain of pet stores in Montreal called Nature Pet Centres and they are truly remarkable when it comes to service. I have visited every section of the store for my various pets and every worker is extremely knowledgeable in their area. They are also wonderful with children and will almost always (unless its really busy) let you take out animals and handle them. They have a wonderful selection of products , although they tend to be slightly overpriced so I would recommend going for the employees knowledge rather than everyday supplies. The store in Point Claire has a wonderful fish section and a large section for puppies and cats as well, the store in Lasalle has a great small animal selection like rabbits and such. It doesn't matter which one you go to , you will undoubtedly receive great service and (a real plus in Montreal) they will serve you in either english or french depending on your preference.
