RE: I Haven't Seen Any Rat Owners On Here Yet
I don't have a rat at the moment, but my sons have kept rats in the past. They made fabulous pets. They were very intelligent and easy to train although they never got to the stage of being able to be taken out like yours.

Where we live now, it was very difficult to even find rats for sale. I went to numerous pet shops where they clearly thought I was mad for wanting a rat. When I did manage to find somewhere that sold them, they only had small cages fit for a hamster.

I eventually bought a rat for €7.50, a cage for €95 and then had to pay a vet for a tumour removal and hysterectomy at a cost of €200. I'm sure my husband would have turned grey if he hadn't already been bald. To my son and myself of course, it was worth every cent.

I would highly recommend having a rat as a pet.
