APPA Estimates 2014 Spending on Pets
According to Good News for Pets, the average pet spending has been estimated to be much higher in 2014 than it has in the prior year. It is estimated that pet owners have spent approximately $58.5 billion dollars so far into the 2014 year. In 2013, pet owners were estimated to spend about $55.72. Already in May, and we've hit close to that amount.

The estimations are recorded by the American pet Products Association (APPA). They state that the estimates for 2014 is a 4.9 percent growth in comparison to last years total spending.

For those who own pets (which is most of you), how much do you typically spend on your pet a year? Obviously, it's not billions of dollars, but what's the average amount?

For me, I probably spend $2-3k a year depending on the needs of my pets. Though other years I've spent $20k on one pet of mine due to hospital related needs.
