Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and their monstrous appetite!
I have a cavalier king charles spaniel named Piper and it seems that, if I let her, she would never stop eating. When we had her at the vets they said that their breed is notorious for gorging themselves. One year we left the chocolate Santas withing her reach and she ate ALL of them! I came home from school to find them regurgitated all over our floor... Sad Anyone else had experiences with these greedy little pooches? Smile

RE: Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and their monstrous appetite!
My previous dog, a Lab, was like that. She was always ready for food. We could not keep any type of food on tables or counters because she would jump up to get it. She could not be left alone with a plate of food.

Once while we were singing Happy Birthday at a family get together, she jumped up out of nowhere and took a bite out of a pie. She was very good at knowing when the humans were not paying attention. I remember one time at one of our parties, my nephew left his slice of pie in a box on the patio table as we were all getting ready to leave. He left it unguarded. When he came back the box was on the ground empty. She ate it all.

Misha, my Jack Russell, is also a chow hound. She comes running whenever she thinks someone is getting food. However, although she can jump high, she has never figured out how to get to the counters or kitchen tables, so she hasn't really gotten into any food.
