maelstrom, my older cat is just over 2 years old. I think that it's just a personality thing. I'm going a bit off topic here, but I'm considering that they both had rough lives before I took them in (even though they were just small kittens then), and just have different ways of dealing with it. Nell being a bit cold and wary of humans, and Heathcliff being very clingy to the human that was nice to him. He's a very silent cat, unlike her he never meows when he's hungry or thirsty. The only times he starts meowing is when he's left alone (when I take Nell to the vet, when I'm taking him to the vet and he can't see me through the carrier, when he's left alone in the hallway even though we're not separated by any doors...). He is a very adorable and loving cat.
