Pet Sitting Charge
What are the standard charges to walk a dog. If a person walks you dog between 30 minutes and an hour? Also, if we go away for vacation is is just not possible to take the dogs this time. I was wondering if we could just get a person to come to the house 2 or 3 times a day to feed the dogs and change their water. How would we find a reliable person to do that? How much would they charge?

RE: Pet Sitting Charge
Do you have a trust worthy friend or family member who actually has the time to do this, or wouldn't even mind doing this? For me this would be the ideal solution, since you would know the person and feel confident that they can take care of your dog in your absence. Another idea would be a neighbor that you've had for several years, and maybe have become good friend with along with the dog who wouldn't mind dong this as well. I'm not a huge fan of hiring someone you don't know to care for your dog, or even give access to your home. Yes, there are services out there that seem reliable enough, but I have to be honest I still wouldn't feel comfortable using one.

Don't even bother asking this question in Ontario.

A year or two ago, I wanted to offer my services at the lowest rate in the area of my city, but I found out that you need a license from city hall. Everything is licensed these days, but it's unbelievable that just to do something as a hobby and help people look after their pets by walking their dogs has to go through bureaucratic red tape.
