I would have a problem hiring a pet sitter. It's not that I wouldn't trust a stranger if he's a professional, I personally don't have trust issues, but my cats do. If I had to leave my cats to someone, he would have to be a great animal lover and have a great knowledge of animal behavior and needs. Not only that, but my cats would have to be familiar and friendly with him beforehand, since I feel like being without their regular guardian for a while would be stressful enough for them without a stranger coming in the house. I actually have a problem leaving the house for too long since I don't have anyone I can trust with my cats.
