If I am correct, it sounds like by having a small water pool in their habitat it helps them to soften the skin for shedding?
I would be scared to use a pair of scissors to help the lizard to take of the skin on a puny toe. It does sound tricky if the lizard can't stay still.
Do you have trouble to soak the lizards or snakes in warm water for the purpose of helping them soften the hard to shed skin? Do they even like warm water? What water temperature should it be?
