I have seen dogs when they face an intruder. The most common strategy is to bark and keep a safe distance away. If there are a few dogs, then they would form a circle around the intruder, barking non-stop, of course. Incidentally, from what I have read, even tigers have been known to be deterred by barking dogs. Apparently wild animals do not like a lot of noise, which is what dogs are very good at making.
