A good vet
We came to know our vet when our first dog was afflicted with distemper. We had no idea of what's bugging our dog. She felt weak and had difficulty walking. In the first clinic, it was arthritis. In the second clinic, it was heart ailment. By chance, I called up the vet that I saw on a poster in the road. That vet makes house calls. And upon arriving, he immediately said that our dog was exhibiting the symptoms of distemper. Fortunately, the shot cured our dog.

Until now, Dr. Ignacio still makes house calls and we are dependent on him for our 3 dogs.

RE: A good vet
Finding a good, reputable vet is important when you plan to keep any animals, and sometimes it's hard to find one that you can get on with and trust. I'm 38 years old and have owned dogs all my life and I think that through the years I've used about 4 or 5 different vets due to them either retiring, closing down or me simply moving to a different area.

What a lot of people don't think about, is that while it's important that you find a vet that you like, what's more important is finding a vet that your pet also likes, and that's sometimes harder than it seems. I don't think any animal likes going to the vet, so finding one that can build up a good rapport with your pet is essential in making the visit to the vets easier.

What traits are important to look out for in a vet in your opinions? I think we all might look at different factors when choosing a vet, so it could be good to read about what others look at.
