Metal Fragments Found by U.S. FDA on Some Pedigree® Dog Food Bags
Here's one news that concerns dog food that we must all be aware:
The US FDA ordered recall on some of the packages of the dog food brand Pedigree®. The contaminated bags were allegedly sold between August 18 to 25 at Dollar General Stores in Vicksburg, Magnolia as well as other Dollar stores in Louisiana, Arkansas and Tennessee. The FDA report said the affected bags were processed in a single Pedigree® manufacturing facility. The said facility was now shut down pending investigation and resolution. The small metal fragments FDA said could have entered in the bags during the production stage and not embedded in the food itself but just the same can still pose risk and injury if consumed. The FDA identified the affected Pedigree® product as the 15-pound bag of Pedigree ® Adult Nutrition Dry Dog Food. FDA further noted that no other Pedigree ® products and variants are affected. FDA advised the buying public to discard the dog food at once or return to its retailer for a full refund. The Pedigree® Dog Food brand was owned and manufactured by American global food conglomerate, Mars, Inc.
