Exclamation  Avoid Waggin Train dog treats and others from China - They're poisoning dogs!
I think EVERY dog owner needs to know about this.
http://vitals.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/05/...s-say?lite

Stay away from chicken jerky treats, anything from Waggin train, and anything imported from China. It's messed up enough that FDA restrictions aren't tight (or...there aren't any at all?) for dogs to the point where these things are still on the shelf.

Spread the word to other dog owners, too. Be safe, and don't trust it just because you see it on the shelves still in many stores. Over 1000 dogs have already been sick and died due to these things.

My mother-in-law works as an English teacher in China and she says even the parents of her students at an international school don't buy products for dogs made in China. Accordingly some areas or provinces are lax when it comes to monitoring safety standards. Perhaps its just a lot of miscommunication since very few people read or understand English there. A majority of factories don't have anyone who speaks English fluently so how would they be able to combine ingredients in the right quantities if the product is for western consumption. Also there are many chemicals that to a non-english speaker may seem similar and they might mistakenly assume they have the same properties. I saw a clip in the news that that hapened with some chemicals which were sold to a company in Spain. It resulted in the death of several children.

I am still confused as to why we keep importing the treats that kill so many dogs. Obviously, it must mean that people keep buying them anyways. I know they sell a lot of those dog treats at the Dollar stores and they are all made in China. By the way, I keep getting another post from people saying stay away from Benefull. I thought that was a good brand, but apparently since I have three posts sent to me, there is a problem now so Google it and check it out. http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/beneful.asp

I think that just about anything that is going to be eaten by either us or our pets needs to be from America, or at least NOT from China.
For several years now, these stories have been floating around about pets dying from treats made in China. I have read that just the growing conditions for livestock, and even fish are so dreadful that if we actually saw it, we would never even consider buying anything edible from there.

China has had some kind of disease in the pigs for a year or so now, and there are horrible pictures online of dead pigs floating down the river in huge bunches. Some of these diseased pigs are probably what is being used to make the dog treats.
