I've only ever "lost" two pets. The first was an orange and white cat named Daisy that was my very first kitten that was all mine. She ran away one day and because we lived in the middle of the woods in a very rural town there was really no chance that fliers would have brought her back, we assumed she was eaten by a hawk or any number of other creatures that lived in our woods. The second was a hamster I had and he was only lost for a matter of hours after I discovered he'd somehow gotten out of his cage. I later found him running down the way WITH my parents' cats who had apparently decided to be friends with him instead of making him their late night snack!
