Why did you choose the bird you chose?

I chose a rescued Umbrella Cockatoo. I have always had dogs, cats and horses and never really thought about a bird until I happen to be on petfinder.com and did a random search and scrolled through the pictures and one sweet face appeared and I looked into her eyes and that was it. We had to go through a very detailed adoption process and education in order to be able to adopt Nana. She's an older bird who had plucked most of her feathers on her chest and she had an attitude probably from abuse but she is so sweet. It's been 5 years now and I still the same way about her when I see her sweet face.
