Well, as long as they are past the"putting things in their mouth" stage, and everyone washes their hands after playing with them, they make great pets.
I just wanted to put that out there is all. As for the regulations it varies all over the place. Here in florida, they can only be sold for "educational & research" type purposes. But there are private pet stores that will sell them if you sign a wavier. Some places they are outright illegal, and some places there are no restrictions at all.
