Just wondering, had any of you been breeding your pets?
My fish bred regularly, but in a community tank it's hard for the fry to survive. So I do not have the overpopulation problem.
The only fry grew up to adulthood were two Dwarf Gourami, a few Platy, and several dozen Neon Rainbowfish, which I gave away quite a lot to friends.
My Yellow Shrimps breed a lot too. I got 13 of them, now I have 150+. Since they are no more than one inch long at full adult size, a 10 gallon tank handled them pretty well.
If I get dogs or cats in the future, I doubt I will ever try to breed them. Blame bw, his "overpopulation" posts would make me feel guilty if I try.
If I get birds, I might try to breed them. Since a while ago I always wanted to raise a just hatched bird chick. I heard they will be so attached to you because they'd think you are the parent.
