I have a preference of both small and big dogs due to positive experiences with both. Small dogs tend to be a bit playful and they are the ones that we currently keep in our compound. I have to say that they like nimbling alot on food due to their small volume compared to surface area. They make useful pets in times of depression when they are all over somebody by distracting your thoughts. Big dogs are very loyal and reflective. They are great with the kids and because they tend to be a bit docile. Unlike small dogs, kids are not likely to hurt them since they wouldn't view them as toys. Big dogs also confer a security dividend and can serve as sentries and are used by the police to apprehend criminals. If its possible, one should keep a combination of big and small dogs.
